Cartouche was created at the NewSchool of Architecture and Design and published by The NewSchool Foundation to provide a forum for analysis and discussion of architecture, urban planning, interior design, landscape architecture and the fine arts. Each issue includes presentations of projects, profiles, essays concerning design theory and criticism, editorials and a calendar of events.
