Our History
The NewSchool Foundation was founded in 1992. Its mission is to enhance and augment educational experiences for students at NewSchool of Architecture and Design. Over its 30-year history, the NewSchool Foundation has focused on a wide range of activities for charitable purposes. Some examples include publishing student work, donating to the Richard P. Welsh Library, supporting the NewSchool Lecture Series, providing funding for design competitions, funding faculty and student research, and awarding travel scholarships for students to visit locations such as Greece, Italy, Mexico, Peru, and Cambodia. The Foundation Board of Directors has always been comprised of a small but highly committed group of individuals interested in promoting the awareness, appreciation, and understanding of architecture and the design disciplines.
